Eagles JV Baseball Gets First Win in Lop Sided Victory
February 17, 2012
The TMA JV baseball team picked up the first win on the young season Thursday night as they overpowered Mount Dora Bible by a final score of 14-0. The win brings the teas record to .500 at 1-1.
TMA pitcher Evan Lowe threw a complete game no-hitter, and was one out away from a perfect game, striking out four Mount Dora Bible hitters and picking up his first win of the season.
The Eagles wasted no time scoring as they jumped on the scoreboard with four runs in the first inning with RBI singles from Lowe and Ryan Nurge, and a 2 RBI single from John Miles. They matched the first inning total with another four runs in the bottom of the second, once again off the bats of Lowe and Nurge. Nurge picked up his second RBI with a double plating Lowe who reached third with a bases clearing three run triple.
The TMA team pushed six more runs across with three in the third and fourth inning each. JP Morales and Bibi Rodriguez each had a hit while Michael Harkcom added three to the hit parade for a team total of 11.
The Eagles JV will look to earn a second victory Friday afternoon with an away game at Lake Nona scheduled for 4:00.
