Carissa Ellis
Female Athlete of the Month
Junior Carissa Ellis is March’s Female Athlete of the Month. Carissa has a current batting average of .500. In seven games she has had 9 hits, 5 runs scored, and 5 RBI’s. As a captain, she is influential in leading the Lady Eagles on and off the field. “We look to Carissa to set the tone for our team both on offensive and defense. She is a natural leader and her desire to win is contagious,” said Coach Chessum. “Carissa’s hustle and work ethic in center field is an example of what quality leadership is like,” commented Coach McLain.
Steven Miles
Male Athlete of the Month
Steven Miles leads the Eagles baseball team in almost every offensive category. He is batting .474 on the young season with 9 singles, 4 doubles, 4 RBI's, 4 runs scored and a team leading .684 slugging percentage. Not to be overlooked is what he has done on the pitchers mound. Steven finished the month of February with a 1-1 record with his only loss coming at the hands of a very good Lyman Greyhounds club while being tied for team lead in ERA with a 3.50 earned run average. Steven was also voted as a team Captain by his peers and coaches.
